Stankonia illustrates Outkast’s complete metamorphosis into a hip-hop duo different from all other artists. The album is the birthplace of Andre 3000 and accompanied by videos with weird colors and special effects.

But no matter how crazy their videos were or what “extraterrestrial” instruments they used, you still couldn’t help but to respect them for their courage to step beyond the norm.

My Favorite Songs

Humble Mumble

I guess it’s is just something about Outkast’s collabs with Erykah Badu that I really love. Humble Mumble is just an excellent blend of at least a million different instruments that somehow all harmonized into one perfect beat. I love the message that they are sending encouraging you to keep going on in life even if things didn’t go as you planned.

Sole Sunday

Sole Sunday is a bonus track on the album. It features appearances from Gipp and Khujo from Goodie Mob. This is just another peaceful song that you can bob your head to. The song features one of my favorite versus from Andre 3000

Ms. Jackson

I loved everything about Ms. Jackson, from the video, to the message it sent to listeners. Who else do you know that can make a hit single apologizing to the baby mama’s mothers of the world? The creativity from Outkast is endless and unparalleled by many other artists. More about this song in the lyrics section.
